St. James Bay Resort is wholeheartedly delighted to announce that Bruce Grundlock, PGA has accepted the position of General Manager with us.
Bruce attended Cumberland County College and has over twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry. Bruce has worked for three of the most prominent companies in the golf industry in senior positions and quickly established himself as one of their top General Managers. Most recently, Bruce served as Chief Operating Officer at Solivita, in Kissimmee, FL. Preceding his work at Solivita, Bruce was the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of The Black Diamond Ranch in FL. Killearn Country Club in Florida, Brookstone Country Club in Georgia, Royce Brook Golf Club in New Jersey.
It is a goal for Bruce to be one of the best club managers in the country. He is the captain of his ship, and he owns all responsibility. His energy level tops the charts, and his drive to be the best in his position is refreshing. As he and his team create more business, his time management skills will be tested, but with his confidence, passion, and the help of his team they will succeed in the club’s vision.
It is obvious from the first time you meet Bruce that he is very driven to improve personally and professionally at every opportunity and takes the time to learn more whenever he can by asking questions and getting involved. Bruce quickly developed an effective new plan for a well-performing club. Bruce's initiative-taking approach to finding new business opportunities has been well received. His urgency to succeed is infectious with his team, and he is confident it will lead to community and member growth.
His sound judgment and experienced perspective provide a logical and practical approach to problems or conflicts. You can depend on Bruce to be open and honest in all your dealings and any issue resolution. You will feel like he always takes a team approach in dealing with the board and is quick to follow up on questions or open issues. Bruce has a personality and communication level to the membership that is not typical in the GM ranks.
Bruce has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ingenuity. He helped Boards grow membership to a record level and promoted as well as fully supported premiere events. He is a leader that delegates effectively but gets personally involved when needed. He maintains a cool head and demeanor when faced with unexpected challenges and keeps his member satisfaction always a top priority. In addition to his leadership abilities, Bruce has the financial acumen to balance member and associations needs and wants against budgetary constraints. Many times, he was able to suggest innovative approaches, accomplish projects, programs, or events at a reduced or lower cost than first anticipated. Bruce is originally from New Jersey but has managed Golf Clubs up and down the East coast. He has experience working with homeowner associations and understands the intricacies of managing a Club within a residential community. Bruce will be relocating from Lecanto with his wife of thirty-one years and six children. When Bruce is not working, he enjoys competitive golf and spending time with his family. Bruce is excited to join the Team and provide leadership to his onsite team, enhance the membership experience, and support the St. James Bay Resort community. Please join us in welcoming Bruce to the Team.
We already have an incredibly talented team on property to serve you and with Bruce joining, we anticipate an elevated membership experience for the remainder of this season and many more to come. Thank you for your continued support and patronage.
